Point to Jesus
May 9, 2025
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:10-11
The past seven weeks have pushed me beyond my comfort level in many ways. When I pause and reflect, I am not overwhelmed with anxiety or remorse. Rather, I am encouraged and excited that despite my failures God is still calling me to be used by Him and through His Holy Spirit.
Five years ago, when our world went through COVID, I learned quickly that the only way I could lead at a Christian school was to keep it simple, make sure everything points others to Jesus Christ as their Savior. That was literally the only thing that we could all agree on. I am thankful we went through that trial because it helped focus me and the rest of us.
When my wife and two daughters came with me to Heritage Christian last month, we left almost speechless at how genuine, loving, and sold out for Jesus the community was. I am excited for God to bring in new families to increase our enrollment and to open the right doors to expand our facilities. But, the greatest joy in my heart is what Heritage will be doing for the Kalamazoo area in getting Jesus to others.
You can feel the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit moving when stepping onto the soil at HCA . This is the same Holy Spirit that was in the lives of the apostles and followers of Jesus in the New Testament. It is the same Spirit of Truth that is seen throughout the Old Testament. As God’s Spirit moves in the coming months and years, be ready to get uncomfortable so that the King of the universe can be seen through the community, city, and state!
